From the familiar melodies of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker to the bustling New York City sounds of Montgomery’s Coincident Dances , this concert will explore the inextricable link between music and movement.

Perry So and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra explore rhythms, melodies, and musical traditions across centuries, partnering with dancers from Tia Russell Dance Studio who bring a new dimension to the sounds onstage. NHSO first collaborated with Tia Russell Dance Studio on its 2024 Prometheus , a reimagining of Beethoven’s ballet The Creatures of Prometheus . Now, the dancers return with choreography that invites audiences to see and hear music from across centuries of choreography and styles.
